BATCH CARBON TREATMENT OF DAVIS-K A-30 / A-9 RHODIUM PLATING SOLUTION

Proper maintenance of your DAVIS-K A-30 / A-9 RHODIUM plating solution is essential to the production of a bright-white deposit. Wax or other stop offs and cleaners or soaps may introduce soluble organic contaminants into your Rhodium Plating Solution, which will cause a darkening of the deposit. The following procedure outlines the process for the removal of organic contamination:

	Transfer the contents of your plating tank into auxiliary tank and thoroughly wash and steam your plating tank and Platinized Anodes (use no soaps).
	Add 1 scoop DAVIS-K ACTIVATED CARBON for every 1 – 2 liters of solution that you are treating.
	Stir the mixture with a glass stirring rod for 30 seconds every 10 minutes for 1 hour.
	Allow carbon to settle (overnight is desirable) and filter clean solution back into the clean plating tank. Be sure that no carbon passes through the filter into the plating tank.
	After carbon treatment adjust solution level with Steam Distilled Water, and mix well with glass stirrer and check Rhodium content with your DAVIS-K A-30 RHODIUM TESTER. Adjust Rhodium concentration by adding DAVIS-K A-9 RHODIUM REPLENISHER and stirring well.
